Fotona Tightsculpting

Fotona Tightsculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical body shaping treatment. It utilizes laser energy to reduce fatty tissue, as well as stimulating collagen and comfortably tightening the skin. Changes to diet and exercise can help control weight, but for many, certain areas of the body are more stubborn and need a little helping hand.

We all know that sadly our skin’s firmness decreases with age, but skin laxity can occur for a number of reasons. Patients who have undergone weight loss can often be left with loose skin that diet and exercise just cannot shift and indeed after pregnancy we can be left with residual skin laxity as well as stretch marks.

Dr Tanja and her team have been performing this laser treatment for skin laxity for a number of years and with the newest technology have established a one of a kind set of protocols giving exceptional results. Every patient is offered a bespoke fat reduction and collagen stimulation laser treatment tailored to their individual concerns and needs.

How does Fotona TightSculpting work?

The treatment is completed in two phases.

Phase 1 gives deep connective tissue tightening and fat reduction. Laser energy is delivered to fat cells, which are then stimulated and heated safely and comfortably. Once broken down, fat is naturally dispersed by the body.

Phase 2 focuses on tightening the deep mid and superficial layers of collagen using a safe laser technique that causes no trauma to the skin. This is a unique way of stimulating collagen only available with Fotona lasers. The energy from the laser tightens the existing collagen fibers as well as stimulating the production of new collagen, neocollagenesis. This will result in effective and lasting tightening of the skin.

For some, both phases are not required and the second skin tightening phase can be performed as a stand-alone treatment. For patients undergoing fat reduction, we will take and record measurements of the area being treated before and after the session. Patients will often see a significant loss in their overall measurements before even leaving the clinic at their first session!

It is a discrete treatment; the procedure is non-ablative and does not cause bruising. No tell-tell signs at all that anything have been done.

As Tightsculpting works on reducing fat and stimulating new collagen growth, it is recommended that patients undergo a course of treatments with each session building on the last. Maximum results are achieved over time as new collagen grows and fat cells are destroyed. The treatment will help give patients a new found confidence that is long-lasting.

What can I expect during treatment?

Cool air and (if required) topical local anesthetic (a cream) can be applied to ensure the correct temperature is achieved and patients are at their most comfortable. The skin will feel warm and may appear flushed during treatment, but this settles down quickly often before patients have left the treatment room.

Treatment times will vary depending on the treatment area, but can generally vary between 1-3 hours. As previously stated, many patients can see an improvement in skin texture and tone at the first session but we do recommend the full course of treatments for optimal results that are long lasting.

Expected results

Patients will notice a reduction in fat as well as an improvement in skin laxity, smoother texture and overall a healthier more youthful appearance of the areas treated.
