Are You Tired of Age Spots? Discover How Laser Therapy Can Help
08/05/2024Why Modern Aesthetics Matter
27/02/2025Do you want fuller, plumper, yet still natural-looking lips? If so, you are in the right place.
For many women, having symmetrical and fuller lips is the topmost desire. Dermal fillers are the usual go to in order to achieve this, however some patients are worried about unnatural looking results as well as not wanting the discomfort and risks associated with fillers. But many of our clients find it very scary and uncomfortable.
At the Dr Tanja Phillips Medical Aesthetic clinic, we offer an easy, safe, and effective alternative – a – laser lip treatment called LipLase®. This gives similar or even better results than lip fillers without any associated risks.
So what is it? And how does it work?
If you want to learn more about this incredible treatment please read on.
What Is LipLase® Treatment: How It Is Different from Lip Injections
LipLase® is a patent laser lip plumping treatment patented by Fotona. It leverages the power of laser technology to target the deeper layers of the lip tissue, stimulating the body’s own collagen production within the lips. LipLase® uses gentle laser energy, triggering a natural healing response with collagen as well as increase blood flow, improving the health of the lips.*.
These wavelengths are carefully chosen to penetrate the deeper layers without damaging the surface of the lips. The targeted heat, prompts the body increase fibroblast activity. Fibroblasts are specialised cells responsible for collagen production, to the area. The result? A increase in collagen giving plumper and more defined lips over time.
On the other hand, in lip injections, dermal fillers, a foreign substance can be injected into the lips to give more volume. Although lip filling is minimally invasive and non-surgical, some clients feel discomfort and irritation; and of course there are the well documented risks of a delayed hypersensitivity reaction to fillers as well as the risk of arterial occlusion (blockage) which can cause the affected tissue to die if not recognised and treated by a medical professional.
At the Doctor Tanja Phillips Medical Aesthetic Clinic, we use both technologies depending on the patient. Both are great techniques but the right technique should be used for the right patient. As we are a medical clinic we are also to minimise any risks due to our knowledge of anatomy. However even with the best injectors sometimes there is an unexpected vessel that can be affected, with our clinic you can rest assured that we are able to promptly address any potential complications from dermal filler injections with our specialist team so you are always in a safe pair of hands.

The Technology We Use in LipLase®
LipLase® treatment uses Fotona’s top laser machines, incorporating the dual laser wavelengths Er: YAG and Nd: YAG.
In Fotona’s SMOOTH® mode, the Er: YAG laser is used. It gently heats the lips to the deeper layer, triggering the initial collagen response. This kickstarts the natural healing process within the lips, leading to more collagen production.
In addition we have developed the treatment further to incorporate Nd: YAG with Fotona’s PIANO mode. This further stimulates of collagen remodelling at the deeper level with minimal discomfort. This unique mode delivers precise pulses of laser energy with minimal thermal effect on the surface.
Why Opt for LipLase® Treatment and its Benefits?
The results of LipLase® can truly impress you. This treatment comes with a lot of benefits that can naturally decrease the age of your skin. If you have thinner lips and mild wrinkles around the mouth area, LipLase®, you should definitely try it.
According to NIH, people who undergo this treatment have seen several improvements. 82% of cases have reported that their lip looks more appealing than ever. Moreover, their texture was observed to be enhanced by 91%, volume by 72%, and overall lip colour by 94%.
So, let’s talk about some promising advantages of this non-surgical treatment.
- Natural Results: LipLase® stimulates your own collagen, promoting a subtle and natural enhancement that complements your facial features. No more worrying about the “overdone” look associated with some fillers.
- Needle-Free Comfort: Many patients express anxiety about injections. LipLase® eliminates this concern entirely, providing a comfortable and pain-free experience.
- Minimal Downtime: Unlike fillers, LipLase® typically has no downtime. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment.
- Reduced Fine Lines: The collagen stimulation triggered by LipLase® can also soften fine lines around the mouth, creating a smoother overall appearance.
- Long-Lasting Effects: While individual results may vary, the increased collagen production from LipLase® can provide noticeable lip fullness for up to a year, with touch-up treatments helping to maintain the desired effect.
How Many Sessions LipLase® Takes
To achieve optimal results with LipLase® and create fuller lips, it typically takes a series of weekly treatments of around 2-3 weeks!
This approach ensures your body has sufficient time to respond to the laser stimulation and build new collagen. This ongoing process helps prevent future collagen loss, which contributes to fuller and healthy lips.
The good news is that each LipLase® session is designed for comfort and efficiency. The entire treatment typically takes 30 minutes or less with minima. It doesn’t require any downtime and anaesthesia or numbing agents and doesn’t require any. Not accurate either – needs numbing cream
You might feel minmal sensation around your mouth during the procedure, but it’s generally well-tolerated. This makes LipLase® a convenient and effective option for busy individuals looking for a natural way to enhance their lips.
