Acne Treatment Package

Dr Tanja Phillips applied a Fotona laser device to a patient’s cheek, targeting rosacea redness.

Description:

Our Acne treatment package covers different devices and treatments to ensure the reduction in acne and improvement in your skin health. Laser treatment for acne can effectively treat the condition and even reduce active acne and boils with immediate results and also resolve acne scarring.

Acne occurs when the sebaceous glands* produce too much sebum. The excess sebum mixes with dead skin cells and both substances form a plug in the follicle. If the plugged follicle is close to the surface of the skin, it bulges outwards, creating a whitehead. Alternatively, the plugged follicle can be open to the skin, creating a blackhead.

*Sebaceous glands are tiny glands found near the surface of your skin which are attached to hair follicles, sebaceous glands produce an oily substance called sebum.

BENEFITS OF TREATMENT

  • Reduction in spots
  • Improvement in background redness
  • Healthy skin
  • Improved skin texture

FAQS

How does the Fotona Laser treatment work?

Fotona’s laser treatment reduces acne inflammation through photoselective absorption and controlled heating effects. Fotona’s high powered Nd:YAG laser safely penetrates the skin to an optimal treatment depth to thermally and selectively destroy overactive sebaceous glands.

In addition to its thermal penetration effects, the Nd:YAG acne laser treatment also accelerates the healing process and stimulates collagen remodeling, an important step in the long-term treatment of acne.

How does the Dermalux LED Light Therapy work?

LED Light Therapy has many different benefits, however when used for acne concerns, the wavelength of blue light is the best selection. This is because it has an antimicrobial effect, which is used to kill common types of bacteria that can settle in pores and on the skin surface, causing breakouts.

We use the Dermalux LED Light in combination with clinical-grade skin care products to help further reduce your acne.

How quickly should I expect to see results?

You should notice a slight improvement in skin texture, redness and spots from your first session. However, with acne this is a skin journey so we do recommend the full course of treatment for optimal results and longevity in reduction.
