Laser Lipolysis Treatment

Description:

Laser Lipolysis is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure designed to reduce stubborn fat deposits and enhance skin tightening. How it works:

The procedure involves inserting a fine laser fiber just beneath the skin through a small entry point. The laser emits controlled thermal energy, which heats and breaks down fat cells. This thermal action also stimulates collagen production, promoting skin tightening in the treated area. 

Once the fat is broken down, it is not suctioned out. Instead, the body naturally removes the fat via the lymphatic system over the following weeks. This gradual elimination allows for natural-looking results, minimises trauma to surrounding tissues and minimises skin laxity over the areas treated. A second layer of treatment can be used to tighten the skin if larger areas of fat are removed giving an outstanding result for fat reduction and skin tightening.

What to expect:

Before treatment:
All makeup will need to be removed prior to treatment, so please come ‘fresh faced’ if possible. Before the procedure, a thorough consultation is conducted to assess the patient’s skin condition, determine suitability for treatment, and establish desired outcomes and realistic goal setting. Photographs will be taken for comparison so that you are clearly able to see the changes to the areas treated.

During the treatment:
Local anesthesia is used to minimise any discomfort. During the treatment a laser fibre is inserted under the skin, targeting the area of concern. The process is comfortable and will take approximately 60 minutes depending on the size if the area being treated.

After the treatment:
Some patients may experience some swelling, bruising and/or mild discomfort following the procedure. Most individuals can return to normal activities within 24–48 hours.

Expected results:

Results can be noticed as early as a few weeks after treatment, with continued improvement over the next 2–3 months as the body metabolises the destroyed fat cells and the skin makes more collagen over the treated areas. 

You can expect a more contoured, toned shape and  improved skin firmness in the treated area. These results are long-lasting when maintained with a healthy lifestyle. Occasionally an additional session may be recommended for optimal results, depending on your individual goals and your response to treatment

After treatment advice:

You may experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising. If the area treated is around the lower face you will be given a chin/lower face compression garment which we recommend  our patients wear every evening to minimise swelling and  help with the healing process. Be gentle with the area, the immediate swelling should subside within a few days.
