Your guide to laser hair removal

My aim is to always optimise my skin heath. As I get older this has become even more important to me. Over time I have become wiser in my choice of products and I have streamlined the many products that used to sit in my bathroom cupboard in their shiny packaging! It’s important to care for your skin not only from the outside, but from the inside too.
I always do my research and want proven technology and quality results for both myself and my patients. I only use ZO Skin Health products for my face. neck and décolletage. In addition, I wear Heliocare 360 sunscreen everyday throughout the year. This has SPF 50 protection along with additional protection for visible light, infrared-A damage, free radicals and DNA damage.
The latest addition to my regime is Skinade…
Skinade is a peach flavoured collagen drink that delivers essential micronutrients to re-build the collagen matrix in your skin. It aims to combat the signs of ageing by reducing oxidative stress, preventing cross linking of collagen fibres, increasing moisture and hydration. Natural hyaluronic acid production is also increased within the dermal layer of the skin. As a result Skinade helps to restore your skin’s youthful appearance, improve tone, texture, hydration, smooth furrow lines and promote better skin suppleness.
Collagen and our skin
We all know collagen accounts for the majority of what keeps our skin looking youthful. From the age of 20 we lose approximately 1% of the collagen in our skin each year. When collagen is lost or damaged we lose elasticity in our skin and gain wrinkles and more “saggy” skin.
The science bit
Most collagen supplements have molecules that are too big to be absorbed by the gut, buying these is a waste of money. Studies have demonstrated Skinade’s low molecular weight hydrolysed collagen peptides’ bioavailability, with more than 90% being absorbed by the body. This absorption also stimulates the body’s own natural process of producing collagen by stimulating the proliferation of fibroblasts (these are the cells responsible for new collagen production). Clinical studies also show an improvement in the hydration, smoothness and suppleness of skin.
My experience
Given all the evidence I thought I would give Skinade a try; I was sceptical at first, despite the evidence. I trialled it for 2 months and was very impressed.
My skin was significantly improved, it was better hydrated, more supple and I noticed an improvement with the laxity of my skin. I am now hooked and take this daily in place of my morning coffee!
In addition to the collagen stimulation it also has many other vitamins within its formula, so no need for other supplements! As a side effect my eye lashes and eyebrows are better, my nails are better and my hair is growing faster – the only downside is when you have some (or in my case many) grey hairs, you will need it coloured more often!
The cost works out as approx £3.50 per day, so why not swap a trip to the local coffee shop for this each day– it’s better for you and no more expensive.
