Festivities countdown Part II25/10/2022
New Addition – OBSERV Device23/12/2022
On Thursday 10th November, Dr Tanja was joined by Professor Christian Phillips and Dr Mandy Leonhart to host the first of an exciting series of educational events for patients.
The subject of our very first evening event was the Menopause. There has been much publicity about the menopause recently, but it is still an area where there is a lot of stigma, myths and misunderstanding. Dr Tanja and her colleagues’ aims were to break down the stigma of the Menopause, myth-bust, and offer an informative, yet lighthearted, insight into this life changing time in women’s lives.
The presentation was divided into 3 parts.
Dr Leonhart first gave an overview of the Perimenopause and Menopause. She shared the symptoms and signs as well as advising as to how women can be supported and treated during this time.
Dr Tanja demonstrated the effects of aging and the menopause on the skin, face and body as a whole. Dr Tanja shared why we see what we see as we get older, by demonstrating the changes that occur within the skin, fat, muscle and bony layers of our facial structure. In addition, she showed the impact of sun (daylight) damage and shared helpful tips on how to protect and maintain healthy skin.
Last but certainly not least, Professor Phillips discussed some ‘below the belt’ issues such as incontinence, prolapse and pelvic floor weakness. During this part of the presentation, Professor Phillips shared important facts about these conditions, offering patients a deeper understanding of the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ as well as sharing ways in which symptoms can be improved and treated effectively. He had the audience giggling away with some top tips on bladder control!
Following these brilliant presentations, Dr Tanja’s team were on hand to provide skin care tips, product information for our clinical grade skincare ranges and free consultation bookings for new and existing patients.
Dr Tanja and her team have been overwhelmed by the response to this event and the engagement from patients!
The team is excited to offer more educational events and would love to hear what topics YOU would like to learn more about. So please do get in touch!
