We are very excited to announce that upon reopening, The Dr Tanja Phillips Medical Aesthetic Clinic in Basingstoke, Hampshire will be offering muscle-relaxing treatments and dermal fillers!
Dr Tanja has trained with Dr Bob Khana and achieves outstanding results.
What are the benefits of muscle-relaxing treatments?
Dynamic wrinkles are those that appear when you frown, smile or laugh; of course, we all want to retain some of this whilst we are smiling and laughing, but most of us would like to minimise the wrinkles that remain set after we have finished expressing ourselves!
Muscle-relaxing treatments can help to smooth the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally they can be used in skilled hands to enhance your natural features. The delivery of the botulinum treatment temporarily relaxes the muscle, giving a smoother, fresher, brighter and more relaxed appearance for up to 5 months!
Treatment areas include:
- Frown lines- creases that sit between the eyebrows (number 11’s!)
- Forehead lines- horizontal lines across the forehead
- Crows feet- known as ‘laughter lines’
In addition, the treatment can be strategically administered to create a brow lift and can improve a gummy smile; Some people have more gum showing in there smile than others. In many, the upper lip sits just above the top of the teeth so more gum shows.
Aside from aesthetic applications, Muscle-relaxing treatments can treat excessive sweating (Hyperhydrosis) in the under-arm area, with outstanding results. This is severe sweating that can interfere with daily activities. It is estimated that about 5% of the population suffers with this symptom.
What are the benefits of dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are used for replacing lost volume, softening deep facial lines, lifting and facial contouring. A gel made with hyaluronic acid is used to plump up the skin. There are many on the market with different densities and make up. One size does not fit all! The right filler should be chosen for the right area of your face/body to give the best result for you.
Treatment areas include:
- Frown lines -creases that sit between the eyebrows (number 11’s!)
- Nose to mouth lines (nasolabial folds)
- Lips (for fullness / smokers’ lines)
- Hollow cheeks
What can I expect from these treatments?
Muscle-relaxing treatments– The results usually begin to show a few days after your treatment session. The muscles will continue to relax and you will notice a steady improvement up to 3 weeks after your treatment. It is worth noting that the rate of change varies from person to person. Therefore a treatment review with Dr Tanja is advised 3 weeks after treatment.
Dermal fillers– The results are instant and can last between six to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used and the area treated. Dr Tanja will arrange a review approximately 2-3 weeks after your treatment and depending on your needs, she will tweak any areas if required. Minor side effects are possible which include bruising, redness, and swelling.
Does it hurt?
Muscle-relaxing treatments and dermal fillers are not generally painful procedures, as the needles used are ultrafine. However, if you are someone that does not like needles or would like some local anaesthetic cream applied, this can be discussed at your initial consultation with Dr Tanja.
