ZO- Looking after your skin health
14/04/2020
As we approach the middle of April, the warmer weather and beautiful sunshine has provided us all with a welcome distraction from life in lockdown.
For some it may come as a bittersweet reminder of bank holiday breaks and family trips to the seaside, but for most it has brought that little sparkle of joy that is so desperately needed!
Complying with the government rules on social distancing is crucial, but for those of you that are lucky enough to have a garden, why not embrace the time you have at home by giving it some TLC while you enjoy some vitamin D- SAFELY.
At the Dr Tanja Phillips Medical Aesthetics Clinic based in Hampshire, we offer Heliocare 360; A wide range of sun protection products to keep you safe all year round!
Let us tell you a bit more about Heliocare 360 and the reasons why sun protection is so important…
UNDERSTANDING SUN DAMAGE
The sun damages skin every day, all year round – even on the cloudiest of days. In fact, rather than sun protection we should think of it as daylight protection. That’s because while UVB is strongest in the Summer, UVA, visible light and infrared-A are present all year round. They release millions of free radicals in the skin causing damage that results in premature skin ageing and impaired skin health.
These daylight-induced free radicals damage:
• Skin cell DNA leading to mutations
• Langerhans cells compromising the skins ability to protect itself
• Melanocytes causing pigmentation
• Collagen leading to lines, wrinkles and laxity
WHY HELIOCARE 360?
Heliocare 360° provides broad spectrum protection against UVA, UVB, visible light and infrared-A and protects against the effects of free radicals. It shields the skins surface and defends the skin from within with a unique combination of intelligent ingredients. Available in oil-free, tinted, compact and spray formulas, Heliocare 360 has something for everyone! You can view the full range here.
MORE TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE IN THE SUN
As well as applying sun protection regularly, we recommend:
- Drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water a day, to avoid dehydration in warmer weather.
- Avoid sitting in direct sunlight between the hours of 11.00-15.00, when the temperature is at its highest.
- Wear a sun hat and/or sunglasses for extra protection.
